NOVA NATURA

Nova Natura reúne obra reciente de Mariana Gómez Maqueo (Ciudad de México, 1993), artista visual cuya práctica se mueve entre lo analógico y lo digital y vuelve una y otra vez sobre la naturaleza, lo urbano y la identidad.

Las piezas de la exposición están sostenidas por las relaciones y contradicciones entre la ciudad y la naturaleza. No se busca resolver dónde termina una y empieza la otra. Hay denuncia, pero también hay fascinación por lo que nace a partir de estos encuentros. A partir de las imágenes, se concluye que ya no existe una línea nítida entre lo natural y lo artificial, ni una sola manera de sentir frente a esto.

Nova Natura brings together recent work by Mariana Gómez Maqueo (Mexico City, 1993), a visual artist whose practice moves between analog and digital and returns again and again to nature, urbanity, and identity.

The works in the exhibition are held together by the relationships and contradictions between the city and nature. There is no attempt to resolve where one ends and the other begins. There is critique, but also fascination with what is born from these encounters. The conclusion is that there is no clear line between the natural and the artificial, nor a single way to feel about it.
